Ismail Serageldin told us today that he was delighted to learn that the membership of the Egyptian Association of Friends of the Library of Alexandria (EAFLA) was growing rapidly and that it had already reached over 500 members. He was delighted that the EAFLA was so dynamic. He lauded EAFLAs founding board, especially dynamic Secretary-General Adel Abu-Zahra, President Lutfi Dowidar and deeply committed board members Sayyed and Mohiba El-Nahhas, who have hosted the start-up institution, and Mona el-Nashar and other members who have made the beginning of this civil society initiative such a success.
