Delegates form fifteen countries assembling in Mexico city were motivated
by a call to scientists jointly issued by Nobel Laureate Jean Dausset and Ismail
Serageldin and endorsed buy hundreds of scientists at their meeting in Alexandria
on the occasion of the international conference on the Ethics And Social Responsibilities
Of Science And Technology held at Alexandria 19-21 October 2002.
That call was the rallying theme of the conference being held here and
where Ismail Serageldin is to deliver the keynote address and a message from
Jean Dausset is eagerly awaited, as the octogenarian laureate is unable to travel
to Mexico City. The text of the call is translated in
