BA holds third Arab Reform conference
Alexandria, 01 March 2006  -- Challenges and Concerns facing the Civil Society is the theme of this years' Arab Reform conference at the BA. Addressing the opening session, Ismail Serageldin introduced the conferences' main themes; microfinance, women empowerment, and youth employment and spoke of the work that the BA is doing as follow up to the second Arab Reform conference, such as the Arab Info-mall which now comprises over 200 civil society organizations across the Arab world. Other issues of discussion on the conference agenda include human rights and the environment. The opening session also showed a documentary of the proceedings and recommendations of last years' conference.
