-- After a year in which we did
not add any news to the website, we are happy to announce that the website is
active once more. Ismail Serageldin
had such a busy year with the launch of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and its
formal inauguration on 16 October 2002, that
we did not receive any material from him.
Now the situation has changed and he has promised to keep us supplied
with information so that we can maintain the website alive.
Given that so much of what he
has been doing is attached to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, or the new Library of
Alexandria, we have decided to maintain a link to the Library of Alexandria as
one of the buttons that can be directly accessed from the left hand column on
the home page.
