Serageldin is attending the 25th Anniversary Celebration of The Academy of Sciences in the Developing World (TWAS), as TWAS Vice President for the Arab World. A series of Jubilee Lectures will be given by eminent scientists and Nobel Laureates at the celebration meetings.
TWAS is an international organization, founded by a distinguished group of scientists from the South under the leadership of the late Nobel laureate Abdus Salam of Pakistan. The Academy’s mission is to promote scientific excellence and capacity in the South for science-based sustainable development.
During his visit to Mexico, Serageldin is also invited by Lourdes Arizpe, Professor at the National University of Mexico, TWAS participant and Member of the BA Board of Trustees, to give a lecture at the University about The BA as a Cultural and Scientific Project in the Context of Globalization. Meetings will also be held to discuss collaboration agreements between the BA and the University as well as with the National Library of Mexico.
