Alexandria, 21 October 2010  -- Ismail Serageldin has finally written up a first version of his extremely well-received lecture delivered at the NSF on September 21, 2010. Earlier versions had been delivered as lectures at Harvard (2009) and then at the Supreme Council of Culture in Egypt (February 7, 2010) and then at the Egyptian Academy of Science, as the special Okasha lecture in Cairo (1st of July 2010) and as a special presentation to the IEEE conference in Alexandria, and finally at the NSF in Washington. At the time of these PowerPoint presentations he referred it to it as the seven pillars of the new knowledge revolution . It is now called The Shape of Tomorrow and includes the seven pillars and a discussion of their implications.
